Using high-frequency ultrasound therapy is effective in decreasing muscle spasms and reducing pain. BTL’s modern, reliable ultrasound has ergonomically shaped, lightweight and waterproof ultrasound heads with built-in visual contact control. These units have a very low BNR (beam nonuniformity ratio, indicates the quality of the ultrasound beam). A low BNR prevents hot spots and tissue damage. BTL's ultrasound BNR is between 2.2-3 (FDA testing), with variation depending on the soundhead size, and MHz delivered. Control panel is programmable is multiple languages, including English and French.

The BTL-4710 Smart ultrasound system has different therapeutic effects. Thermal effects are the result of using continuous mode on subacute or chronic conditions, and result in myorelaxation or increasing soft tissue extensibility. Non-thermal effects can be achieved by using pulsed mode, and result in tissue haling and pain relief, as well as effectively treating oedema & hematoma.
All BTL therapeutic ultrasound systems include a small bottle of ultrasound gel, which is necessary for treating safely. Apply a generous amount of ultrasound gel to the treatment area, and keep the ultrasound applicator in good contact with the patient.
