Description

BTL-6000 FOCUS SHOCKWAVE: AN EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVE TO SURGERY

The BTL-6000 Focus Shockwave device is a clinically proven and effective non-invasive alternative to surgery. Ideal for fast pain relief and the restoration of mobility, the therapy enhances tissue regeneration, eliminates calcifications, relaxes muscles and trigger points, and stimulates the healing of non-union fractures. Its technology offers the highest lifespan with constant shock intensity and a perfect balance between high Energy Flux Density and optimal Focal Zone size. It has the highest frequency range on the market for a wide spectrum of indications. Health Canada approved. MDALL 102793

MECHANISM OF ACTION

TR-Therapy transfers radiofrequency energy through tissue using either capacitive or resistive applicator. Capacitive mode is used to treat superficial structures, such as skin and muscles. Resistive way of application treats deep structures, such as deep muscles, tendons and bones. Due to natural resistivity of the body to radiofrequency energy, TR-Therapy creates pleasant selective healing that spreads through the body. TR-Therapy brings not only scientifically proven medical effects but also a great feeling of being relaxed.

MEDICAL EFFECTS

The acoustic waves with high energy peak interact with tissue resulting in accelerated tissue repair and cell growth, analgesia, and mobility restoration. Each of the following effects happen simultaneously and are used to treat chronic, sub-acute and acute (advanced users only) conditions.

New Blood Vessel Formation

Nutrient blood flow is necessary to start and maintain the repair processes of damaged tissue. The application of acoustic waves creates capillary microruptures in tendon and bone.

New Blood Vessel Formation

Nutrient blood flow is necessary to start and maintain the repair processes of damaged tissue structure. The application of acoustic waves creates capillary microruptures in tendon and bone. Due to microruptures, the expression of growth factors such as eNOS, VEGF, PCNS and BMP is significantly increased.

As a result, blood vessels are remodeled, stimulated to grow and new ones are formed improving blood supply and oxygenation of the treated area and supporting faster healing of both the tendon and the bone.

Reversal of Chronic Inflammation

Mast cells are a key components of the inflammatory process. Their activity is increased by using acoustic waves which results in the production of chemokines and cytokines.

Reversal of Chronic Inflammation

Chronic inflammation occurs when the inflammatory response is not completely halted. It can damage healthy tissue and results in chronic pain. Mast cells are a key components of the inflammatory process. Their activity is increased by using acoustic waves which results in the production of chemokines and cytokines. These pro-inflammatory compounds first enhance the inflammatory process and then help restore normal healing.

Stimulation of Collagen Production

The production of collagen is necessary for the repair processes of the damaged myoskeletal and ligamentous structures. Shockwave therapy accelerates collagen synthesis.

Stimulation of Collagen Production

The production of collagen is necessary for the repair processes of the damaged myoskeletal and ligamentous structures. Shockwave therapy accelerates collagen synthesis. The therapy stimulates the newly created collagen fibers into a longitudinal structure which makes the newly formed tendon fibers more dense and resistent.

Dissolution of Calcified Fibroblasts

Calcium build-up is most often the result of micro-tears or other trauma to a tendon. Acoustic waves successfully break up the existing calcifications.

Dissolution of Calcified Fibroblasts

Calcium build-up is most often the result of micro-tears or other trauma to a tendon. Acoustic waves successfully break up the existing calcifications, turning it into a toothpaste-like consistency which is then removed by the lymphatic system.

Dispersion of Pain Mediator “Substance P”

Substance P is a neurotransmitter that mediates pain information through the C-fibers. This neuropeptide is generally associated with intense, persistent and chronic pain.

Dispersion of Pain Mediator “Substance P”

Substance P is a neurotransmitter that mediates pain information through C-fibers and is generally associated with intense and chronic pain. It relays pain messages to the central nervous system. Decreasing the concentration of Substance P reduces the stimulation of afferent nociceptive fibers and thus reduces pain. Decreasing Substance P, histamines and other nociceptive metabolites also inhibits the development of inflammatory oedema. Acoustic waves generated by Shockwave therapy decreases Substance P concentration and triggers pain relief.

Release of Trigger Points

Trigger points are the main cause of pain in the back, neck, shoulders and limbs. Delivered acoustic energy unblocks the calcium pump and thus reverses the metabolic crisis in the myofilaments and releases the trigger points.

Release of Trigger Points

Trigger points are the main cause of pain in the back, neck, shoulders and limbs. They are associated with palpable nodules of muscle fibers and have extremely contracted sarcomeres. The sarcomeres contract so tightly that they begin to cut off their own blood supply which results in waste build up. Waste build-up irritates the sensory nerve endings which causes even more contraction. This vicious cycle is called “metabolic crisis”. The acoustic energy delivered by shockwave unblocks the calcium pump and reverses the metabolic crisis in the myofilaments which releases the trigger points.

Mechanism of Action

Focused shockwave technology causes deep cell stimulation that releases growth factors responsible for tissue regeneration and the initiation of healing processes in the damaged tissues.

It is a gold standard treatment for deep-lying tendinopathies, calcifications, and delayed bone healing conditions, such as pseudoarthrosis.

No. The BTL Focus shockwave is completely liquid free. This saves you from time consuming daily de-bubbling that is needed with other systems. Just turn it on and go!

BTL Focus Shockwave does a self-diagnostic test every time that the system is turned on.  The self-diagnostic test ensures that the BTL System is generating the highest quality acoustic wave.

Focus Shockwave generates a higher intensity acousic wave than Radial Shockwave.  Due to its higher intensity, the number of shocks and number of treatments needed to address pathololgies is less than Radial Shockwave. For the average treatment, 1000 to 3000 shocks is recommended, and the average patient will need 1 to 4 visits spaced out weekly.  For patients that want faster results, the BTL Focus Shockwave is the best option.
