We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Equipment Technician to join our Technical Support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible primarily for repairs, maintenance, and refurbishing of medical equipment used in the rehabilitation industry. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that devices sold are safe, functional, and compliant with regulatory standards and that equipment service is performed to client and manufacturer expectations.Â

Key responsabilities:

Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide variety of medical equipment and devices.

Repackage refurbished or serviced equipment for shipment, ensuring secure handling and adherence to quality standards.

Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Document all service and maintenance activities in compliance with regulatory and manufacturer standards.

Calibrate equipment according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

Collaborate with clients and staff to understand equipment functionality and resolve technical issues.

Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Stay up to date with technological advancements and regulatory changes related to medical devices.

Participate and lead training programs on the proper use and care of medical equipment.

Prepare equipment for regulatory tests by ensuring all functional, safety, and labeling requirements are met.

Qualifications:
-
Education in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience, certifications, and training in medical equipment maintenance and repair are considered an asset.

Strong technical knowledge of electronic and electromechanical systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Familiarity with healthcare environments is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Expected to report onsite daily at 1-170 rue bombardier
-
May require lifting equipment, tools, or parts weighing up to 100 lbs.

On-call duties or overtime may be required depending on department needs.

Travel to off-site facilities or client locations may be required for equipment servicing or installations.

May be required to work in patient-care areas, sterile environments, and confined spaces.
