NMES, TENS, Serial Contraction, Denervated Muscle Diagnostic & treatment, Galvanic (Iontophoresis and Water Treatments) 4 channel mainsor rechargeable battery.
Discover the full potential of electrotherapy with the CEFAR PHYSIO 4. This compact unit offers effective treatments for all conditions where electrotherapy is indicated – 131 programs in all. It is also easy to use. The CEFAR PHYSIO 4’s indication-specific menus make it easy to choose a program to fit your patient’s needs. An extensive Cefar Clinical Guide (CCG™) describes how to use the programs, where to place the electrodes, the suitable stimulation intensity and recommended treatment time. Choose from the 131 preset programs or create your own with the programming function and save it in one of the 50 personal program slots. The CEFAR PHYSIO 4 has four channels, which means that you can use up to eight electrodes at once for stimulation. This gives more effective treatment of major muscle groups and allows for several muscle groups to be treated at once. The CEFAR PHYSIO 4 lets you run two programs at once – 2+2 stimulation. This saves time and makes your treatments more flexible, allowing you to treat one part of the body for pain relief while training another with muscle stimulation. The CEFAR PHYSIO 4 can run on a rechargeable battery or be plugged into a wall outlet.
Program overview for the CEFAR PHYSIO 4
68 NMES programs The stimulator has a total of 68 NMES programs. The muscle stimulation programs in the CEFAR PHYSIO 4 are divided into three groups: Rehab, Sport/Fitness and Urology (treatment of incontinence). The stimulator also contains special programs for hemiplegia and paraplegia. The CEFAR PHYSIO 4 offers special programs for training strength and mobilization in specific muscle groups, which can be combined with traditional physiotherapy exercises. The Clinical Guide gives examples of combination training.
4 programs for serial contractions Training using muscle stimulation in serial contractions is an ideal complement to other physical treatment methods designed to facilitate and relearn functional patterns of movement. The muscles are activated in a series so that the serial contraction is as close to the functional movement as possible. Stroke and other brain-injured patients need to facilitate training of regular functional movements. The serial contraction programs in the CEFAR PHYSIO 4 train the following movement patterns: grip and release, hand-to-mouth motion, antiflexion synergia and standing up. The programs have been tested on stroke patients.
41 TENS programs The stimulator has 39 TENS programs, all designed for specific indications. With the CEFAR PHYSIO 4, you select a program according to the patient’s complaint. The TENS programs are divided into four groups: Nociceptive, Neurogenic, General and Special programs. Some examples of programs include stiff neck, back pain, hip pain, menstrual cramps and angina pectoris. To make the stimulator as simple as possible to use, the program parameters (frequency, pulse duration and so on) are preprogrammed, based primarily on clinical studies, but also on our extensive experience.
18 programs for denervated muscles The CEFAR PHYSIO 4 lets you diagnose the degree of denervation in a muscle. There are also preset programs for treating denervated muscles. Electric stimulation inhibits atrophy in the denervated muscle. You can store the diagnosis in the stimulator’s patient database, which can hold information on up to fifty patients.
Galvanic currents The CEFAR PHYSIO 4 offers direct current stimulation for two types of treatments: water treatment and iontophoresis. Water treatments enhance circulation. The unit has programs for treating edema and hyperhidrosis (excessive hand and foot sweat). Water treatments are used on hands and feet, which are difficult to apply electrodes to for traditional treatment.
The iontophoresis programs are used for treatment with corticosteroids for local inflammations, such as bursitis, tendonitis, fascitis, myocitis and capsulitis.
