Incontinence can be treated and prevented through exercising pelvic floor muscles. As with exercise of other body parts, you can strengthen the pelvic floor muscles that are critical in retaining control. Beat Carriere, PT, has created an exercise program called "Exercises for the Pelvic Floor". This 30-minute video for therapists demonstrates exercises to strengthen the muscles in the pelvic floor and the abdominal compartment, including the diaphragm.
