Michael J. Fox & Health Achieve 2011

Michael J. Fox to deliver a keynote address at HealthAchieve 2011

Well-known actor ‘has an incredible story to share’

Acclaimed Canadian-born actor and activist Michael J. Fox is on the bill for this year’s HealthAchieve, one of the largest events of its kind in North America. The Back to the Future star and renowned activist for Parkinson’s disease will deliver a keynote address during the healthcare conference and expo in the fall. The event draws about 10,000 people to Toronto each year.

Warren DiClemente, chief operating officer and vice-president of educational services of the Ontario Hospital Association, which presents HealthAchieve, is pleased to have the Canadian icon on the bill.

“Clearly, we’re very excited to have (Fox) as one of our keynote speakers,” (previously quoted by DiClemente to Axiom News)

“HealthAchieve has an impressive track record for presenting A-list keynote speakers as part of its offering and (Fox) is no exception.
”He’s also enormously popular and has an incredible story to share, drawing upon his own life experiences. Our attendees have come to expect an event that truly inspires them so (Fox) is a terrific fit for our show.”

Held Nov. 7-9 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, HealthAchieve features about 50 educational sessions, 250 speakers and an expansive trade show.
There are many benefits of attending HealthAchieve, whether as a delegate or an exhibitor, DiClemente says. Attendees take part in top-notch educational sessions, can network with colleagues and learn about the latest healthcare products, services and technologies at the expo. “We want every attendee to walk away from HealthAchieve feeling truly inspired, having had a fantastic experience — one they’ll tell their colleagues and friends about. And the second thing is for each attendee to take away at least one idea, no matter how simple or small it may seem, he or she can apply at work that can make a difference and help change our healthcare system for the better,” DiClemente says.

“After all, that’s the genesis of HealthAchieve in the first place – inspiring ideas and innovation.
